Ekovan – the eco-centre beside the horses
A space joining contact with horses, environmental education and rest in nature.
The project aims to create a place for families with children, schools and travellers to have authentic contact with nature and animals.
What Ekovan will contain
Teaching space in a shepherd hut
A 6.5 × 3 m shepherd hut with wooden cladding. Shelter for educational programmes in any weather.
Creative and educational zone
A place for workshops and for working with school groups.
Herb garden
A living textbook – herbs visitors can smell and taste.
Sensory trail
Natural surfaces, discovered barefoot.
Riding arena
A 20 × 40 m sand arena with wooden fencing. A safe space for riding and for showing work with the horses.
Visitor facilities
A wooden terrace with seating, shade and somewhere to rest in the middle of nature.
Mini café
A 6 × 3 m container café. Simple refreshments, drinks and souvenirs, with an emphasis on local produce.
Solar power and rainwater harvesting
The grounds run on a low-cost, low-impact setup. Electricity comes from the sun, utility water from a rainwater system.
